Despite some embarrassing moments during the official meeting between Donald Trump and Emmanuel Macron yesterday at the White House—where the French president interrupted and corrected Trump several times, mainly regarding the figures for Ukrainian defense financing—the White House released a very pleasant video highlighting excerpts from Trump’s speech in which he acknowledged French support during the American War of Independence (1775-1783).
At that time, France and England were major adversaries, and the French saw supporting the independence of the American colonies as an excellent way to directly impact their English rival. It was largely thanks to French support that the American revolutionaries won the war, with Trump recognizing and expressing his gratitude for that in his speech.

The Battle of Hostomel Airport was the first major clash between invading Russian forces and Ukrainian defenses. Putin’s plan was to capture this airport, strategically located just 25 km from central Kyiv, and use it to land cargo planes loaded with armored vehicles and troops to reinforce the assault on the Ukrainian capital, which was his primary objective at the start of the war.
The first Russian attack wave failed, with many of the paratroopers involved being killed or wounded. However, in the second wave, Russian forces managed to seize the airport. Despite this, intense Ukrainian pressure and the presence of air defenses in the region prevented the Russians from operating aircraft through Hostomel.
On April 2, 2022, facing strong Ukrainian resistance in Kyiv, Putin ordered a full withdrawal from northern Ukraine, shifting his focus to the Donbas. https://video.nostr.build/d19bd540779b669caf8863159ae6b834354d639d31082a03c074a27f9bafe6cd.mp4

Putin offered Trump Ukraine’s minerals and rare earth elements. In an interview, Putin stated that American companies would be allowed to exploit Ukraine’s mineral wealth in areas under Russian military occupation.
This reinforces some theories suggesting that the U.S. and Russia have reached a kind of “secret pact” in which they will divide Ukraine’s resources after Trump offers Putin what he could not achieve on the battlefield by his own means.
This could also explain much of Trump’s recent behavior—accusing Ukraine of being the aggressor, calling Zelensky a dictator, and blocking a UN resolution demanding the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Zelensky presented a long list of defense products that his country is already producing locally. Far beyond simply receiving weapons and using them against Russian invaders, Ukrainians are developing their own national defense industry. According to Zelensky, more than 90% of all drones used in combat are manufactured domestically. https://video.nostr.build/5e453ed372e03abcd05eadf167f9f5cbcea3fc9756c5db0ec7af169661f97066.mp4

Journalist: “You said that Zelensky is a dictator. Would you use the same words to refer to Putin?”
Pay attention to Macron’s expression as he hears Trump’s response.
During the White House meeting, Macron corrected Trump several times, contradicting him mainly on issues related to the financing of Ukraine’s defense.
Europe knows it has lost the U.S. Now, with Germany under a chancellor much more aligned with European collective defense, the path is finally open to accelerating the process of rebuilding the continent’s military capacity as a unified bloc.
Macron is one of the main advocates of the project to build a European armed force, and yesterday’s meeting with Trump likely gave him even more motivation to push this initiative forward quickly. https://video.nostr.build/6b9ad3f9a3d3c4d9b15a85896a220465111328d77cf1bcf897b85d676dd8a17d.mp4

Congressman Rich McCormick accused Minister Alexandre de Moraes of using the judiciary as a political weapon. He also stated that Moraes represents a risk to the United States by targeting American companies and that, for this reason, the Trump administration should impose sanctions, such as freezing any assets the minister may have in the U.S. and revoking his visa.

Both U.S. and Ukrainian Officials are now stating that they are close to signing the “Rare Earth Minerals Deal” which has been hotly debated between the two countries over the last week, with President Donald J. Trump stating that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky could travel to the White House next week or the week after to sign the Deal. According to those who have read the most recent draft of the Deal, significant changes have been made which appear to favor Ukraine, including stating that the U.S. expresses a desire to see Ukraine remain “free, sovereign and secure,” though it still does not specify any kind of kind of security or military guarantees that have been requested by Zelensky. The Deal still calls for the creation of a “Reconstruction Investment Fund” which Ukraine would funding through 50% of all revenue from the extraction of minerals, oils and gas, however the demand that Ukraine continue to contribute until the fund reaches $500 billion has been dropped as well as a stipulation that the fund be 100% controlled by the United States; with a section stating, “The Government of the United States of America intends to provide a long-term financial commitment to the development of a stable and economically prosperous Ukraine - so as to invest in projects in Ukraine and attract investments to increase development.” Lastly, the draft contains a provision on the development of mining projects in what the text calls territories “temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation, in the event such areas are de-occupied,” which is where much of Ukraine’s mineral wealth is located.
