i'm now into my second week of no caffeine and i am finally starting to get better vision convergence for reading, after much of the last 3 years suffering with double vision while needing my eyes to work well for programming
i'd rate the current state of it at 50% of the typical average for the last few years, so i'm now almost dead certain that whatever caffeine, and especially coffee, was doing to me, is now starting to recover
idk how long it will take but if i'm at 50% improvement at 2 weeks then maybe i'll be able to see normally again soon
it's also going to be interesting to see how it affects my minimum distance for focus... when i was young, it was about 15 centimeters i could read sharp text, in fact i could read text at about 2 points (1/36th of an inch tall) such as the hidden writing in australian banknotes styled into lines. since this double vision problem started that blew out to about 40cm but if it is possible for me to focus again at 30cm i'm gonna call that a massive win, and a massive black mark on caffeine and coffee as being "good for your health"
i'm also becoming generally more productive, my motivations are not so fickle and i find it easier to sit down and plug at something when i decide to do so
