Built in 1724 by a Greek monk, the Stavropoleos Monastery is a beautiful example of Romanian Renaissance architecture.
The monastery is special for its Byzantine music tradition, with a choir that still performs this ancient style. Inside, you'll find a vast library with over 8,000 books on theology, music, arts, and history. There's also a collection of old icons and ecclesiastical objects from the 18th century.
A small community of nuns lives and works here, carefully restoring old books, icons, and textiles.
It is a true cultural and historical treasure in Bucharest's heart.
