My first large format drawing is finally finished!

350 hours of work 31 pencil leads 12 pencils 1 drawing paper

"The Rise of #Bitcoin" was just a thought, an idea in my head over 4 months ago.

Even more fulfilling to now be able to witness this idea with my own eyes and to creatively combine my drawing style and love to detail with some of the most formative events in the 16 years since Bitcoin came into existence.

This will not be the last project on this scale!

10 years ago, on August 28, 2014, Hal Finney passed away from rare ALS syndrome. In the course of this, I have tried to create a small artistic tribute in pencil, in which I reminisce about Hal Finney, his work and his legendary proclamation “Running bitcoin”.

Do you recognize this legend? It took me more than an hour to draw him on an area of one square inch, barely bigger than a thumb.

I'm drawing a ceiling fresco in honor of Hal Finney. Maybe one day it will adorn the ceiling of an architectural proof-of-work masterpiece.

The time has come: my next work will be a tribute to Hal Finney. On August 28, 2024, it will be exactly 10 years since he passed away. I plan to reveal this drawing on this exact day.
