Craziest small world encounter…

I grew up in a small town so it’s rare to meet people from it or who know of it.

We’re in Charlotte, NC hanging out with a colleague’s friend who mentions spending summers in my home state. I ask a few questions and find out the person she spent summers with lived within a mile of me and I went to high school with her friend.

She then invites her friend to come hang out. Since the connection is fresh on my mind, I ask him a random question about my hometown. He says he knows one person, his roommate in college. The person he named was my next door neighbor.

So, on a random trip in North Carolina, I meet two people who are friends with people I grew up within a mile radius and in one case my neighbor.

The world is small.
