@npub1jug...fc28's new Misty Breez wallet seems really interesting. Would not be surprised to see it replace Phoenix as my backup spending wallet for those inevitable times that my node is down when I am out and about. 😂
That said, at its base it is a Liquid wallet, which is how it achieves "Lightning without channels."
Can someone explain to me why the federated nature of Liquid is still considered "self-custody" in this context, but what seems to me a similar federated nature of a fedimint is considered custodial?
My understanding has always been, if there is a non-zero chance you could be rugged, then it is custodial. Liquid seems to have the same non-zero chance of being rugged as a fedimint, with the only difference being who are the signers in the federation, and the assumption that the ones in Liquid can be trusted more not to collude.
That sounds custodial to me.
