Today was a good day. I deployed my Nostr app Zappix, worked on nprofile1qqsz69cnayy65a0ty2re8dwdfynkyjnd6w0433q5davac43n4h6a06qpzdmhxue69uhhwmm59e6hg7r09ehkuef0r6yts5, had a jam session with a developer, discussing several projects, and I can't wait to do it all again tomorrow.

The good: NIP-07 login. Nsec login 😬 Kind 20 images. Kind 1111 comments. Choose your preferred blossom server. Outbox model. Edit your relays. Profiles. Edit profile. Follow/Unfollow. (No nuking!) Global and Following feed. Mute/Unmute. Report. Blurring of NSFW and Content Warning.

The bad: The mobile UI is bad. It was good. I'll fix this soon. Zaps do not work at this time. They did. You can set a default zap amount in the profile. #soon Hashtags are missing, but were once glorious and shall be again with search.

Bugs: If you refresh the page you're viewing you'll get signed out and have to sign in again. Sometimes you'll get an error that you're not following anyone if this is done on the follow feed. I will fix this by remembering the signed in state, if I can figure out how to do that.

PRs are absolutely welcome to add features or fix the above, because I am not a true full stack developer and I am hacking my way through this with AI, blood, sweat, tears, and rage.

zappix update! it's back and working at about 85% again. however, building for production results in 67 build errors and attempting to resolve some of these build errors completely breaks the application once again 😁

i don't like to give up and i also do a lot of dumb things out of principle... these are blessings and also character flaws at times. zappix is about 75% working. i need to re-add profile editing, comments and a few other tweaks, but im taking a break for now (and making a git commit 😉 )

@npub1lrn...qnw5 you would have enjoyed our value for value and more zaps versus more zappers conversations that @npub1zg3...90cl and i had at the Launch music festival. i don't believe we ever came to a solution, beyond trying to convince people that bitcoin is money and it's okay to spend a small fraction of your stack.

the most annoying part about this is i was so happy last night. here is the announcement note i typed up for this project then. i only wanted to fix one small error this morning. however, now my app is so far gone and so far fucked, it's not worth spending more time and money on it. ill say this is a $600 lesson. im not a developer. i tried. i failed. i should have made commits last night and i should have been doing this all along when i had the app in a good working manner before adding to it. that's my fault again. (p.s. i the junior developer comment is gold.)

Here's my #vibecoding client that I spent way too much money on building, however it was a fun learning experience. And in all honesty, using AI as a junior developer is much cheaper than paying to have this application created by a human.
