"In case of crisis or war"
With tensions with Russia rising, Sweden, NATO's newest member, updated the guide for its citizens to face situations of serious crisis or war.
The guide begins with the following sentence:
"If Sweden is attacked, we will never surrender!"
The Swedish government also warns that all citizens, between 16 and 70 years old, may be called upon to protect the country in the event of war.
The guide tells citizens how to recognize the alarm sirens and what to do in each case, also advising the best places to protect themselves in the event of an air attack.
The guide also advises people to prepare for periods of scarcity, recommending stocking up on water, food, medicine, electricity (batteries) and heating (warm clothes). The guide also asks citizens to have cash at home for at least 1 week of usual expenses.
Finally, the guide gives tips on what to take in case of an evacuation order. Among the items are food and water for a few days, warm clothes, some medicines, cell phone with power bank and charger, map and compass.
The guide also warns about the risks of psychological warfare and interference, a Russian specialty. According to the guide, Swedes should be prepared to doubt "certain sources" and asks them to be alert to attempts at manipulation through images, videos and speeches created by Artificial Intelligence.
