‼️‼️ Absolutey HARAM radical cryptographic wireless mesh networking guide ‼️‼️
Okay, now that I have your attention you can check out this article I wrote. Spent quite a lot of time on it as it included a lot of testing in my lab 🥼.
If you're into:
1️⃣ Mesh network routing 2️⃣ Cryptography 3️⃣ Wireless radios 4️⃣ Wine
Then you're definately my type, but you should probably read this article first.

Riticulum is badass
Reticulum is the cryptography-based networking stack for building local and wide-area networks with readily available hardware. It can operate even with very high latency and extremely low bandwidth. Reticulum allows you to build wide-area networks with off-the-shelf tools, and offers end-to-end encryption and connectivity, initiator anonymity, autoconfiguring cryptographically backed multi-hop transport, efficient addressing, unforgeable delivery acknowledgements and more.
The vision of Reticulum is to allow anyone to be their own network operator, and to make it cheap and easy to cover vast areas with a myriad of independent, inter-connectable and autonomous networks. Reticulum is not one network. It is a tool for building thousands of networks. Networks without kill-switches, surveillance, censorship and control. Networks that can freely interoperate, associate and disassociate with each other, and require no central oversight. Networks for human beings. Networks for the people.
Reticulum is a complete networking stack, and does not rely on IP or higher layers, but it is possible to use IP as the underlying carrier for Reticulum. It is therefore trivial to tunnel Reticulum over the Internet or private IP networks.
Having no dependencies on traditional networking stacks frees up overhead that has been used to implement a networking stack built directly on cryptographic principles, allowing resilience and stable functionality, even in open and trustless networks.
No kernel modules or drivers are required. Reticulum runs completely in userland, and can run on practically any system that runs Python 3.

Pushing an OS is tough work.
Have y’all considered submitting a Tollgate patch to OpenWRT standard routers?
We build separate packages for the TollGate services that run on the router. The OS is just a way for easy onboarding and a reliable first version because we then have a predictable OS state.
We want to get to a point where any existing OpenWRT install can just add the packages and see it work.

Based. Looking forward to this 💪💪

I thought of more!
The true garlic seed community, trying to breed garlic that actually produces seed instead of planting “seed garlic” cloves, which are clones of the parent plant.
Landrace breeders and others who are actively creating hardy, adaptable or locally adapted varieties of crops or even livestock.
I maybe see some of the second kind sometimes, but I don’t think I’ve seen any TGS people here yet.
didn’t even think of it, do garlics usually produce seeds like onions?
No, because of generations of clonal reproduction, it’s actually kind of rare for most garlic to produce true seed. This is an insidious problem because it leaves one of our most important spices wide open to the threat of extinction.
This is why TGS people are working to breed the garlic varieties which DO produce seed, and sometimes wild garlic collected from its native region in Central Asia.
This is the first time I’ve ever heard of this but I’m interested!
So I should grow from my own harvest seed‽ this is most welcome news!
Yay! If you can get it, I hope you do!
True garlic seed is black and looks a lot like onion seed. If your garlic produces bulbils up in the flowers, you may need to remove them to encourage true seeds to develop.

Christians from countries where they’re persecuted
Other dissidents of oppressive regimes (we do already have some, but there should be more)
Egalitarian Christians
Scientists who post about science, especially their personal research
Natural builders, especially timber frame, bale / balecob, log, and traditional roofing like thatch and slate
Skilled people who work in a “dying” art or trade
Potters and fiber artists in enough numbers that you can ask technical questions and get a quick response, or give technical tips and that be really useful to someone
Fiction writers who frequently post stories or worldbuilding
Same only different: fiction podcasters; webcomic artists
Midwives, doulas, etc. (I keep seeing them appear, following them, and never hearing from them again)
People who post about nature / science, art, cooking, traditional skills, literature, creative writing (especially science fiction), or Christianity in Mandarin
Entire local communities so they can help each other in “freedom cell” -like ways

If you like radio, but not the regulations, check this out…
👀 The document is titled “IN RE: DELETE, DELETE, DELETE” 👀
The document is a Public Notice from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) titled DA-25-219A1, released on March 12, 2025. It announces the FCC’s initiative to review and eliminate unnecessary regulations as part of a deregulatory agenda.
Key Points: • Purpose: The FCC seeks public input on identifying regulations that may no longer be necessary or that impose unnecessary burdens on businesses. • Deregulatory Focus: The notice aligns with Executive Orders (14192 and 14219) which emphasize reducing regulatory obstacles and encouraging investment in telecommunications infrastructure and innovation. • Comments & Reply Deadline: • Initial comments due by April 11, 2025. • Reply comments due by April 28, 2025. • Evaluation Factors: • Cost-benefit analysis: Are there FCC regulations where costs exceed benefits? • Effectiveness over time: Have some regulations failed to meet their intended purpose? • Technological & market changes: Are there rules that are outdated due to advancements in technology? • Barriers to entry: Do regulations disproportionately impact small businesses? • Legal context changes: Have legal rulings (such as the Supreme Court’s Loper Bright decision overturning Chevron deference) altered the regulatory landscape?
Call for Public Input • The FCC invites detailed comments on specific rules that should be repealed or modified, considering factors such as: • Unnecessary compliance costs. • Regulatory barriers to competition. • Changes in the broader regulatory framework.
Submission & Filing Process • Comments should be submitted via the FCC’s Electronic Comment Filing System (ECFS). • Paper filings are accepted through designated FCC addresses.
This review aims to streamline regulations, promote competition, and align FCC policies with current market and technological realities.

Took some packet system redoing and work, but I am happy to announce that #hamstr now works great on 1200 baud packets FM using 2 cheap handheld radios and small USB audio interfaces!
Range is very limited on handhelds, maybe 5-8 miles, but great proof of concept. Fantastic for off-grid fast deployment no grid client needs.
HF 300-600 baud packets radio and VHF/UHF 1200 Baud working.
Will do a bit more testing and tweaking then merge the changes.
Using 2 50watt mobile ham radios and small 2m/70cm antennas and you should be able to use hamster at ranges of 15-30 miles with line of sight.
A great alternative to the current HF only system!

Has anyone investigated the possibility of building a LoRa-like low-power transceiver for 49.82-49.90 MHz band for use as an #RNode? This might have greater range in rural, tree-covered areas that limit 800/900 MHz signal propagation.
#AskNostr #reticulum #meshnetworking #mesh #LoRa #hamradio #nomadnet
The 49.82 MHz to 49.90 MHz band allows for personal hobby transmitters up to 100mw output with any modulation as long as the modulation stays within the 49.82-49.9 MHz band. This provision within Part 15 opens up opportunities for 49 MHz beacons, provided an effective antenna is used.
§ 15.235 Operation within the band 49.82–49.90 MHz. (a) The field strength of any emission within this band shall not exceed 10,000 microvolts/meter at 3 meters. The emission limit in this paragraph is based on measurement instrumentation employing an average detector. The provisions in §15.35 for limiting peak emissions apply. (b) The field strength of any emissions appearing between the band edges and up to 10 kHz above and below the band edges shall be attenuated at least 26 dB below the level of the unmodulated carrier or to the general limits in §15.209, whichever permits the higher emission levels. The field strength of any emissions removed by more than 10 kHz from the band edges shall not exceed the general radiated emission limits in §15.209. All signals exceeding 20 microvolts/meter at 3 meters shall be reported in the application for certification. (c) For a home-built intentional radiator, as defined in §15.23(a), operating within the band 49.82–49.90 MHz, the following standards may be employed: (1) The RF carrier and modulation products shall be maintained within the band 49.82–49.90 MHz. (2) The total input power to the device measured at the battery or the power line terminals shall not exceed 100 milliwatts under any condition of modulation. (3) The antenna shall be a single element, one meter or less in length, permanently mounted on the enclosure containing the device. (4) Emissions outside of this band shall be attenuated at least 20 dB below the level of the unmodulated carrier. (5) The regulations contained in §15.23 of this part apply to intentional radiators constructed under the provisions of this paragraph. (d) Cordless telephones are not permitted to operate under the provisions of this section.
